I was anxious that day. Parked the car, grabbed my camera, and the moment I stepped out, I saw him.

Perched on top of his van, beer in hand, bathed in the warm glow of sunset. It reminded me of Into The Wild, my favorite movie at the time.

I lifted my camera, but he noticed—laughed. I froze. It wasn’t supposed to happen like that. Nervous, I walked over. He was Spanish. We started talking, and just like that, we clicked. Two “neighbors” on the other side of the world.

By the time we wrapped up, I asked, “Can I take a photo of you?” "Sure," he said.

This time, I had the moment. And it became one of my favorites ever.
